Tab key and Rename (F2) with PDF preview open issue with losing rename field focus

With F2 in File Explorer, using any PDF previewer I have in preview pane, I can press Tab/Ctrl Tab to quickly rename items serially. In File Explorer it auto selects the name of the next item in rename field, and excludes the extension. Focus isn't loss.

However in XYPlorer, after I press F2 then rename then Tab to rename next item, the PDF previewer seems to steal the focus from the next item when I press tab - it's active for a sec, but the previewer seems to steal focus then give focus back to the list....but without my rename field staying active! So to resolve, if the previewer takes focus, can XYPlorer be set to detect if the rename field is active and if so, maybe have it just auto press F2 again? I can kind of mimic this by pressing F2 a few times as the preview pane loads...

Have tested with FoxIt and PDF Xchange PDF previewers and have above issue with all.

Also how do I get it to select the next file name minus extension rather than end of file when I press tab after pressing F2?

I don't see such focus stealing here with PDF-XChange PDF. However, you can try this tweak:

        PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt=msg
      By factory default (and for upgraders) it's set to "msg" (quotes are optional), but 
      you now can set it, for example, to "msg.pdf" if your PDF preview handler steals the 
      focus as well, or to "" if you don't need the fix.

Select the next file name minus extension... that's a bug. Fix comes.

I think the focus issue goes away when I uncheck "Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview".
However I want that on for the Winword/MS Word previewer...to allow it load in background and prevent the UI freeze otherwise. However then I guess I get this undesirable PDF preview behaviour.
Can you maybe add a tweak that allows us to choose to use the 64 bit preview handler for MS Word files only so it loads in background? Maybe Excel/Powerpoint too.

That's already possible with User-Defined Preview Handlers (Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats | Categories).

I have had to change some settings as better to fix some preview pane non response issues:

Previewed Formats - user defined:
pdf>{1B96FAD8-1C10-416E-8027-6EFF94045F6F}>32
[use FoxIt, force 32 bit to stop the window flickering]

Shell Integration:
-Use 64 bit preview handlers for preview - checkmark ON

So far is better when transitioning between PDF/docx previews.
