background color mystery
Re: background color mystery
And additionally, if the USB drive is inserted in to the computer before XY starts, then its contents are not grayed out. But if it is inserted after XY is started its contents are grayed out.

Re: background color mystery
Insert a character like ■ into one of the names, measure the hex and dec color value of that gray using some screen color detector, then search the XYplorer.ini file for it. You will find it.

Re: background color mystery
I assume that some color filter is the culprit. This way you can find it.

Re: background color mystery
If I do Tools, Customize Tree, Show Section Colors untick, then the 'graying out' goes away and the contents of added USB drives looks the same as everything else.

Re: background color mystery
So there you have it. Did you use the method I told you to find it?

Re: background color mystery
No - I just tried a few things.
And I still don't know WHICH filter is doing the 'graying out' because it is not obvious (to me anyway) from looking in the Color filter box which one is being used. Maybe Tree - Locked Tree. And again, I don't recall doing any of this - it just seems to have changed after a recent beta.
But no problem - I am happy now having found a way to turn the graying out off.

Re: background color mystery
TreeSectionColors = [Reserved]|SpecialFolders|RapidAccessFolders|Drives|PortableDevices|RecycleBin|Network (RRGGBB)
Unavailable paths are grayed out. Maybe that's what happening at your end?
