Rapid Access
Rapid Access
Speaking of such things - how do I NOT have the Rapid Access item/bar show above the computer name (see pic below). I am accustomed to having that space blank and like it that way. I have looked in all the usual places to turn windows and views off and can't find the OFF for Rapid Access.
If we cant turn RA off yet, can we have that capacity in a future beta please?

Re: Rapid Access
It's where all the elements are that can be shown / hidden (in the tree)?

Re: Rapid Access
Thanks highend - that was it. I was looking all in Toolbar items and sort of forgot about configuration since that has been set-and-forget as it were for a while.
I am positive I did not tick show Rapid Access so I am not sure how it got ticked unless by default upon installation of a recent beta - but then as Horst says above ....... ?

Re: Rapid Access
I just installed my first beta containing Rapid Access and it was enabled by default. And (of course) appeared at the top of the tree. No user intervention necessary unless I wanted to turn it off.
Is there any way to copy/paste my current Favorite Folders to Rapid Access? Or do I have to go to each directory and manually add it?
Thanks.

Re: Rapid Access
Hmm, are you sure you fully understand RAF? It's not the same as Favorites or Links. It's not just locations in the tree or quick jumps to some distant place, it's a mapping that works all over the application. If you use RAF paths there is no easy way back. They will settle down in many MRU lists and only function there as long as they are RAF.

Apparently not completely. :-)

The reason for my ask was I saw that you hinted that "Favorites" would (might) be going away.

personally i don't like this trend. now that Rapid Access has gained traction, what's next ? remove Favorite Folders ? because i use those too !
Re: Rapid Access
Don, I have noticed with the new SC raf, when a item is added with the list in a location that isn't already in the tree (such as a hidden folder), the list changes location afterwards. Is that expected? Anyway to repro:
- fresh
- Configuration | General | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List | Select Items...
goto "%appdata%"; raf(<xypath>);
- result = List seems to navigate to previous location, not stay in appdata.
