Clicking some sub folders redirecting to Root folder on drive

Post by awisniewski »

Hello
XYplorer 25.60. I was using previous version and just updated.
OS: Windows 11 Home

This issue seems to be random...
Say I'm in:
C:\MyFiles\Bob
and click a folder in "Bob" called "media" aka C:\MyFiles\Bob\media
the clicking of that folder redirects back to C:\

I'd say it happens once every 30 clicks approx........if I had to guess.
At first I thought it was something I was doing but I've seen it keep happening.

Not sure how to provide a way to reproduce it though?
Let me know if there is some log I can share.

By "click a folder" you mean double-click a folder in the list, right? And you click right on the caption or somewhere on the row?

Hi.. Sorry yes.. Double click.
I'm clicking right on the text of the folder itself.

Check out "Double-click on white in file list" in Configuration | General | Custom Event Actions. By default it is "Go Up". You can change this, or you double-click right onto the caption.

Hi
Thanks for the help.
Sorry I'm double clicking the text of the folder itself. I've attached a screengrab.
I checked the settings and then reproduced the white space click to go up one folder.
It does seem to happen often when I'm in the "My Documents" folder.

I just played around for 10 minutes clicking folders over and over to try and reproduce.
I think that white space click may be it.
When I'm in "My Documents" the white space double click throws me back to "This PC" which would fit the issue I have.
I thought going up one directory in "My documents" would go to the C:\users\Bob\ but it appears to go back to "This PC"
I think that is a layer of my confusion.

I'll try changing that double click whitespace to none.

Documents is one of the special folders directly under "This PC".

Two more tips:
1) If you are used to clicking the entire row, you can also enable Full Row Selection: Tools | Customize List | Full Row Select
2) Or to be able to click the whole cell in the Name column: Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Mouse | Full name column select
