Details with Thumbnails causes inconsistent navigation

When a folder shows a thumbnail, I must double click inside the actual thumbnail image to go into the folder. If I double click on the yellow portion of the folder instead of the thumbnail image I go up a folder. Double clicking on a folder icon which has no thumbnail inside of it works as expected. See attached image. If I click inside of the area outlined in red, I go up a folder instead of entering the folder I double clicked on.

I still see a related odd behavior that could be improved with Details with Thumbnails.

When hovering, the entire bounding box of the items is highlighted, however one must click on a portion that is either text or colored via the folder icon, or thumbnail.

Double-clicking anywhere else within the box that is highlighted upon hovering takes you up a level rather than opening the file, or entering the folder for the item one is hovering over.

This behavior is not consistent with Tiles where double clicking anywhere that is within the highlighted bounding box does not take you up a level.

The behavior presents itself as a bug and is rather confusing until one realizes what is going on.

I see no inconsistency. What you seem to want with Details with Thumbnails can be achieved by enabling Full Row Select.
