Custom column content disappeared after update

Just auto updated to 25.40.0100
I have one folder displaying two extra columns where I can put links and data about specific files.
It has been perfect for nearly 10 years, but now the two columns are just blank. The extra columns appear to still be correctly configured - there's just nothing in them.
Have I lost all this data??

Look into the tag.dat file to see if the data is still there

Thanks for the pointer.
Looked in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer and the tag.dat there was missing the info. The tag.dat in the AutoBackup subfolder there was also empty but below that was a folder called '24' and the tag.dat in there still had the data. I replaced the first one with that and my extra data has reappeared. So have quite a lot of files that had been deleted but that wasn't too hard to sort out.
Overall, I'm about 90% back to normal.

I do data backups hourly - but, of course, it had never occurred to me to backup xyPlorer!
I'll now have a think about all the other places that store odd little bits of data that I've never thought about!

I use the portable version of XY which makes backups very easy.
Using a ZPAQ backup of the whole tree (excluding the thumbnails)
gives me access to all previous version in one archive.
As ZPAQ is deduplicating the stored data, the archive size is moderate.
