Wheel scroll lines "0" or "" (empty)

Post by autocart »

Hi all,

can someone please check whether
Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Usability | Wheel scroll lines
works with "0" and "" (empty).

The help says that in that case XY should use the system value. I had the system on 3 and that setting on empty and XY still used it's own value of 1.
Can't easily double check it atm. Besides, a 2nd confirmation or non-confirmation would certainly be good.

Thx and regards, me

I have my settings at "0;6" and I get 12 lines scrolled in a detailed view. It appears to be the same if I have: ";6".

I've always used 6 on thumbs because I want the full page scrolled of all completely viewed thumbnails
(i.e., if a thumbnail row was partial on the bottom it will be displayed fully on the next scroll down).

With a setting of "" blank, I get the same system scrolled lines as above "12". and one line of thumbnails.

Ok, thx, for testing.
I learned something. Did not read the help up to the point of the 2nd number. Should not be connected, though, but interesting.

Ok, I was able to test it again.

I had the list set to Details with Thumbnails #1 view (and switching Icons off and making the Thumbs 32x16), besides I was not aware of the scroll-value for thumb views which seems to also apply to Details with Thumbs #1 view.

Summary:
All works correctly, once one understands the ruleset behind it.

BTW, Don,

it seems that I am now at an age where an icon size of 16x16 seems too small and 32x32 too big.
I am perfectly happy with using the Details with Thumbs #1 view as described above, in order to make it fit to my needs, but it only offers size 16 and then as the next size 32 for thumbs.

I know it is a long shot and would be breaking with a forever tradition, but would it at all be possible to consider a 24x24 thumbs size option for the Configuration | Preview | Thumbnails | Thumbnail widths and heights size options?

Regards, me
