Do you know any other file manager that has this feature? What is it called there? I cannot find anything on the web. :eh:

Not that I would expect it to, but I don't think Dual Pane Favorites works when you have a syntax like the following (cut & pasted from my Favorite Folders):

Code: Select all

"Photos|<xyicons>\photo_camera_03.ico" goto "H:\Pictures\";
"Wallpaper|<xyicons>\wallpaper_08.ico"goto "G:\Wallpaper\1920x1080\";
I tried a number of times with no success. It would be quite a mess with the separators between the Favorite name and icon along with the single "goto".

Seems to work here. So what exactly does not work?

There may be some confusion. What I showed above definitely works, but I can't use that format (title | icon goto folder), for the new "Dual Pane Favorites" format. At least I can't figure the correct syntax. I don't think it's possible with the separators in that format.

Insert the || and it just works: "Photos|<xyicons>\photo_camera_03.ico" goto "H:\Pictures\";||"Wallpaper|<xyicons>\wallpaper_08.ico"goto "G:\Wallpaper\1920x1080\";

There was a little problem with the menu icon and caption. This will be fixed in the next beta.

Thanks Don. I added filtering into the equation as well. So for example, I can see JPGs in one pane and PDFs in the other. And of course, it doesn't have to be the same folder. :tup:

Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear, it works fine. :tup:

The old DUAL syntax, which I know you didn't like, had an allowance to set the view mode like in this old example I dug up from the grave.

Code: Select all

 goto "DUAL:1.G:\PDFs\Misc\>>0||G:\PDFs\Misc\>>6"
The number was derived from the get("view") syntax. Any chance in that in future enhancements?

Oh well, I figured I'd mention it anyway. It would be kind of cool to immediately set the view in both panes especially if you were looking for something other than the default or the current saved FVS.
