How to add a catch-all item to the POM

Post by admin »

I like an option to open with UltraEdit in any file's POM. This PFA will do:

Funny you should say this, that's exactly what I had done, only with EditPad of course ;) Also, I kinda use it for now as a way to "almost get" CTB... :)

I have to say that while when it first appeared I wasn't really excited about this POM, it's grown on me, especially with the latest additions (PFA not used by default).
It's on my TB right now, but I'm not sure yet if it'll stay or not, we'll see. I use it to do things I used to do differently, like script or UDC, and there's two things I noticed :

- For ::openwith (allow to use parameters) we get a script icon instead of the app's icon, as well as a script instead of a nice name. So I would suggest that PFA would support arguments, much like the UDC Open : we put the app in quotes, and after that the arguments (with <items> being supported the same way as for UDCs)

I think that's be another really nice addition there !

- Speaking of scripts on PFA, for (default) PFA only it's fine as it is now, but through the POM it looks a bit ugly to have the actual script, and much like with Favorites, it'd be cool to have the ability to use captions in there. It would be great not only for scripts, but also app, because while XY does a good job at getting a nice name, sometimes we might want something else completely that makes more sense for us, or just sometimes the names used are just really not telling anything...

Yes, captions like with Favorites are planned already.
