I found this thread from a few years ago while trying to work out how to switch tabs in MRU order. It lists the same questions I have but doesn't seem to answer them. Can we have another go please?
I want to switch tabs in MRU - as per Firefox and Notepad++. The setting 'Cycle tabs in recently used order' changes the behavior of CTRL+TAB but I cannot work out what pattern it is using - but it ain't MRU!
Tabs A, B, C, D.
* I click on A then on D.
* CTRL+TAB should now take me from D to A. Release.
* [hold] CTRL+TAB A to B to C. Release.
* [hold] CTRL+TAB C to A to D. Release.
* CTRL+TAB now cycles D to C.
You can see this in action with Firefox and Notepad++.
As I said, 'Cycle tabs in recently used order' is doing something but it isn't producing MRU as above.
P.S. 'Cycle tabs in recently used order' is also changing the behavior of CTRL + Pg Up / Pg Down which I think is an error? That setting should only effect CTRL+TAB.

We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Re: MRU (Most Recently Used) Tab Switching (again!)
Nope, that's wrong. To go backwards use Ctrl+Shift+Tab.* I click on A then on D.
* CTRL+TAB should now take me from D to A.
