How to view the Properties Tab and info panel

Post by xyMario »

Some things on this program are very convoluted.

I was trying to get the folder sizes to display when hovering over folders, because this program gets very sluggish populating folder sizes, but could not find an option to do that. zI thought I had seen the folder sizes in the hover box before but it is not appearing now.

Then I did some searching and found information on the Info Panel, but there are no instructions on how to view it. I then read about the properties tab but again could not find any information on how to enable or display it. There are no options listed in Window or Panes. This is very frustrating.

Can someone please let me know how to do any of the above or point me to a place I can learn how?

I find it highly unlikely that this doesn't exist in your installation.

In addition there is a very comprehensive User Manual pdf that you can download and use for reference.

Thank you. I don't know how I missed that, mea culpa , but I could not find that in the section of the manual discussing it. This is a workaround, but it would be nice if we could have the folder size show up in the pop up when you hover over the folder as is the case in Windows File Explorer. I doubled check and still could not find a way to do this, but maybe, like in this case, I am overlooking something.

I wish it was not so sluggish populating the folder sizes, but I do have huge folders with a lot of data.

You're welcome.

I have often missed something that I've been looking at, so not to worry. XY is so damn configurable that it's sometimes tough to find what you're looking for.

One way would be cached folder sizes

Code: Select all

Configuration | General | Tree and List | List | [x] Cache folder sizes
Configuration | General | Tree and List | [x] Show cached folder sizes only
