What about reading the change log? :) That was planned since day 1 and it comes next beta... :cup:

- To make it feel smooth and not annoying, the glider will not appear as long as the mouse is moving,
it will only appear when and where the mouse rests for 150 msec.
Just a thought: I have randomly "simulated" some possible use cases. And some times I wished the Glider once shown would just stay and move along the nodes (until I leave the activation zone). The delay would be for on and off and enclosing a glider session. Or the on delay could be reduced to 0 msec by a modifier key.

Clearly nothing for the initial iterations. And my real world usage might proof me wrong. Or I'm simply unpatient. :titter:

I made it 25 msec faster. Maybe that's all you need :)

I wonder:

1) Should there be a default button directly under the mouse when the glider appears? Saves moving to the button over and over again.

2) Should the buttons and the whole thing be a bit larger?

Let me know after the next beta (now with barbed arrowheads!)?

1) default button: a (customizable) one seems to be a good idea. Muscle memory is an underrated aspect.

2) size: your the man always looking for perfection - and you have asked. Could there be a dynamic render size range depending on the width of the tree pane?

1) The idea of having some button under mouse pointer when gliders shows up is a good idea, indeed saves moves. Same hope buttons positions would be customizable.
2) I'd say current proportions are fine, but maybe it could be able to enlarge those along with Ctrl+wheel text enlargement.

Glad you got rid of the right-side jump, but glad you kept the right-side Glider. I think my muscle memory in the end will like that better; 1) Consistent activation space (being just to the left of the tree's right side always) and 2) left side requires the user to move the mouse horizontally with the folder indents.
Edit: It looks like comment 2 above isn't really true now since Glider appears to activate anywhere to the left of the node and that's fine.

Along the lines of Filehero's comment, if the folder name is very close to the tree's right-side edge, I get no Glider on the right-side. It may have something to do with the focus size beyond the folder name.

The glider is awesome!

I've found a case where no arrow gets shown at all. This shouldn't be a real problem in practical use - but it is asking for a default "minimal" arrow/target indicator.

I skip the arrow when it would overlap stuff. Just does not look good.

hi! small request if it's possible. please understand this comes from someone with limited visibility (hence my larger plus/minus buttons).

1. would it be possible to show a colored border around the destination folder when the Glider is active ? the active folder is already colored, but a colored border addition may help locate it quicker. BONUS - would be super-cool if the tree dimmed except for the folder the Glider being hovered and the destination.

2. should the Glider be disabled when you are hovering over the active folder ? since you probably wouldn't use the copy/move buttons on itself ?

1. Bells and whistles...let's keep that in mind for a later stage of the feature.

2. Agreed!

BTW, I dropped the idea of using the focused tree as the source for glider file operations. Making the result depend on the current focus is risky and unintuitive. Now the glider-triggered operations always and only work on the selections in the list (no matter where the focus is).

So will the Glider not display at all if there is nothing selected in the list, or will it display but the buttons won't work?

Did you see my Edit 2nd paragraph here viewtopic.php?p=213920#p213920 concerning the Glider not displaying at all? It was an edit that I neglected to mark as Edit.

The mouse pointer must be outside the foldername (plus some pixels left and right for hover highlight and color filter stuff) proper to pop the glider. In other words: It must be in the white/empty.

So it's working now.

My first impression: Too many targets, too risky. Turns out I keep clicking into the white of the tree to give it focus. This is now dangerous. ---> The glider hot zone probably has to be limited to some narrow and visually marked area.
