Enabled point to select and it doesn't work

Just recycling this topic. I don't use Point to Select personally, but while testing something I noticed an issue, to repro,

fresh;
Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Mouse | [x] Point to select
Apply

Now in the currently open tab on both panes P2S works, but if switch to any non active tab it doesn't, and if new tab opened from any of those it inherits the non working status.

While investigating your issue I found that Point to Select does not work on special paths. Could this be the real cause of your problem?

I'd say it's highly likely since that matches up with the repro steps I gave.
