XYP picking wrong default app

Hi. I am trying to solve a strange problem and the forums don’t seem
to know anything about it.

I like to use Faststone as an image viewer; however, when I open a
file using XYP, it defaults to Windows Photo Viewer no matter what I
do. If I open a file directly from my desktop screen, it opens in Faststone.
However, if I open the same file using XYP, it opens it in Windows Photo
Viewer. I have all the defaults set to Faststone. Windows 11. Any ideas?
