New beta crashes on start

YEAHHHHHHHHH! Another triumph of logic and intuition!

You saw the blood trace leading to XYcopy. At startup it could only be exist or getversion. We isolated getversion. And it was experimentally shown that getversion was the culprit. For whatever strange reason. But now comes the punch line! It was not Win8. It was Donald! I was wrong when I said I did not change the code since the last millenium. I actually added one single line last week! Because I thought (hybris!) it would be a good idea:

So you had the right intuition! Compiling 13.70.0103 would have shown that something wrong had been added recently.

PS: Of course, it would have been easier if the crash had also happenend on Win 8.1, but...

For successful upgrading your tag.dat should have this first line:

Edit 1: Oh, I just found out that I need to add 2 pipes to the end of each line. This works, but will mess up comments with Extra 4.

I spent most of the last week on this and in all my tests upgrading from v2 to v3 works perfectly. (Of course, it cannot work when you manually change the file in unexpected ways.)

Comments are the LAST field.

BTW, you always find a 24h old backup of tag.dat in <xydata>\AutoBackup\.

I did not manually change tag.dat
I attached an autobackup tag.dat v2 and a v3 here (sent password via PM).

.0117 looks good on Win 7
No crashes. New tags work, old labels are still there too.

I received this bug today, well it said "This class does not support automation" I didn't capture the code sorry. If happened when I right clicked in the open space next to a folder in one of my view panes. I was trying to bring up a menu to make a new folder. I've included a pic of where I clicked when this happened.

It crashed and I was not able to reproduce it.

This error is related to the (failed) preview. So, which file did you (attempt to) preview before the crash?
