"Use space character for boolean AND" is too technical and obsure of a name...

Post by ghost zero »

When we right click the live filter icon, the option of "use space character for boolean AND" is too technical and confusing of a name. Instead, you should give it an intuitive name, like what Apple would do. Like "use multiple partial words", or something like that, which expresses intuitively what it does, so it is universally easy to understand.

I'm always open to better words, but personally I find "use space character for boolean AND" clearer than "use multiple partial words".

Support for leave it as "use space character for boolean AND".
If one doesn't understand this he probably will not use boolean conditions at all.
I would never understand what "use multiple partial words" means
and never ever associate it with a boolean AND.

you think the current name is clearer because you understand the technicality of it. but it is not intuitive for everyone, and a lot of users will end up having to search around to figure it out, which is cumbersome.

another intuitive name you can switch to is something like "fuzzy search". it is memorable and easy to type if users have to search around to figure it out.

Sorry but I support Don's wording of this as making more sense than the alternatives presented so far.
