Positioning of dialog boxes.

When I copy a file from one tab to another, I first receive a "Drop Now?" dialog box (I know I can switch that off). It is positioned around where I am copying, could be "app centered", nice and easy.

I say Ok and receive "Replace or Skip File" dialog box, but it is way off to the left, even outside XY's client area. So it is not app centred nor screen centred.

I am running one monitor, 5120x1440 resolution.

Is there a way to control dialog box positioning?

Not totally sure which boxes you are talking about. Can you provide screenshots of the "Drop Now?" and "Replace or Skip File" boxes?

The "Replace or Skip File" dialog is owned and positioned by Windows. It's strange that it's so weirdly positioned. Never heard about this problem and cannot explain it.

But you can enable XY's own copy machine, it should fix this issue: Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Custom Copy Operations | Use Custom Copy

I was actually looking to attach the ZIP files here but you are right, should be emailed. I just edited the email and attached the two screenshots ... my email program didn't display clearly that it still had the 2 ZIPs attached ... sorry, they got sent again. I will talk to the programmer to display attachments better when resending

Thanks, MUCH nicer. One problem running 5120 is programs that move dialog boxes all over the screen ...

Which sort of leads me to something else I can't find the answer to (maybe it should be another topic) but if I have multiple XYs open and make a change like you suggest, what happens to any other XYs already open ... do their settings get changed straight away? or when reloaded? or do I lose my change when another copy exits?

If they are all reading and writing the same configuration files, it has to be understood that the last instance that writes those files will "win" and overwrite any changes by previous instances. To update a running instance to the current state of the configuration files you have to close it without writing, and then reopen it. This is achieved by the command File | Restart without Saving.
