Secure File Deletion

Post by bergfex »

This feature would make sure that when you delete a file it cannot be recovered by overwriting the data in the file multiple times.

It's a feature that is included in SpeedCommander and some other file managers.
I know there are a lot of freeware tools like Eraser (www.heidi.ie) or Sysinternals SDelete which can do that, but it would be just handy to do it in XYplorer with a simple KS.

Just an idea, not a really important feature. Maybe nobody else here would ever use it...

I think it was discussed here somewhere somewhen. Actually the term "Nuke" (which in XY means "no confirmation, no recycle bin") would be better used to describe what you mean. It's already on my loooong todo-list but with low prio.
