I'm using v24.20.0500
Menu bar | Tools | Customize List | Full Row Select
If I navigate to another directory the list reverts to highlighting just the Name column again. In other words, the item in the menu reverts to unchecked.
This behaviour applies whether or not I select: Configuration | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Full name column select
Looking at the contents of the xyplorer.ini file there's only one entry relating to FullRowSelect which is: TagColClickFullRowSelect=0 I don't know if this is significant but I thought I'd just mention it.

1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

Oh dear, I'm not doing very well here. Yes, of course, you are absolutely right. I've now changed my default setting to include Full Row Select and all is now fine and dandy.Many thanks for your help...again.
