What is Error 445?

I stumbled into this using 24.20.518. I had thumbnail display selected and inadvertently entered this folder. The Error 445 box shows up and there is no way out of it except to tap close for each file until all files have been examined. If there are 500 "bad" files in the folder, XY forces me to tap close 500 times! The alternative is to kill XY with task manager.

As usual, I am sure I have missed something.

Update: Unselecting "Preview/Thumbnails/Show Thumbnails for non-images" solved this problem.

I went back to 23.90.0000 which just works. I am thankful I kept the installer.

A drastic move back to 23.90 when the new beta that fixes your problem is already out.
Btw you can always access old XY versions from the freezer.

23.90.0000 is not in the freezer.

I cannot do without XY, I own three lifetime licenses, but I don't see an improvement over 23.90. The new beta may have fixed 445, but it seems to have introduced new issues with thumbnail creation. 23.90 just works. So, I am going to stick with a version that does everything I need. I will definitely stay up with beta/full releases, but 23.90 is my gold standard.
