At one time, I was able to right-click on a file within the XYplorer interface, drag the file to another location (such as the desktop), release the mouse, then choose "Create shortcut here" from the context menu.
I still have the "Create shortcut here" menu option, but XYplorer isn't following through on the operation. No new shortcut appears in the new location. Is there an updated config option I've overlooked?
My workaround in the meantime (no big deal) is simply to create a shortcut in the file's original folder, then drag (or cut and paste) the shortcut to the new location.
Thanks for your help.

Works fine for me with the current beta.
And a faster way (than your current workaround): Holt ALT, left click the file, drag it...

Re: Right-click drag & drop to create shortcut
Appreciate your input, highend.
ALT + left-click + drag isn't working for me either. Odd!
I'm chicken when it comes to betas, so will wait for the next major release and hope for the best. Again, thanks!

I'd restart the PC first before doing that. Just in case^^

Re: Right-click drag & drop to create shortcut
Using Windows 10 File Explorer, all drag-and-drop operations work as expected — including your "ALT" technique. (Which I like a lot, so thanks for that.)
This drag-and-drop glitch must be due to an un-ticked (or wrongly ticked) XYplorer config setting. I'll continue poking around.
Thanks again.

If you enable this it should fix it for you:
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | Extended compatibility for clipboard and drag and drop

Jupe, thank you! Back on track! All drag and drop shortcut options now work like a charm.
Left to my own devices, I'm 99% sure I'd have overlooked the "Extended capability" option. So triple thanks for that, and thanks to you and highend for taking the time to help me. I really, really appreciate it.
