phpBB Forum Display "code" blocks

Is there any known method to enhance or change the output display characteristics on phpBB Forum fonts PER end-user? Specifically, the "code" blocks are extremely difficult to read (for me) and scaling the output to larger format really doesn't solve the problem, just larger and hard to read.
