Whenever I restart my computer and the first time I open XYplorer, it always crashes (not responding). I have to force close it and restart it again to have it work.
I am using it on Win11 professional, version is 23.70, Lifetime License Pro, the license granted to "Shiqi He"
I have attached my computer info and software info in the attachment
Solution found: Turn off the "Always show folder size" option in the configuration, I turned it off and the program worked well, not sure why that happened

Re: Crash on every first start
Well, I noticed that it is not just the first start, I closed the XYplorer for a while and reopened it, not responding

Re: Crash on every first start
And it only happens at startup? Once it works, it works all the time?

Re: Crash on every first start
If you like you can try it with this version: viewtopic.php?p=203526#p203526
It has special debug code that might throw an error message at startup when things go wrong again.

Re: Crash on every first start
I installed the version in the thread using the "Installer Package", when I opened it up, the same thing happened, not responding and no exception message was thrown. By the way how can the program possibly throw an exception when it is not responding? Is there a log or something like that?admin wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022 15:00 If you like you can try it with this version: viewtopic.php?p=203526#p203526

Re: Crash on every first start
This is what the program seems to be doing when not responding, I am not sure if this will help, just FYI

Re: Crash on every first start
I turned off "Always show folder size" and things seems to get normal. It's weird that I once thought the program was just calculating folders' size during "Not responding" so I just need to wait, but it was still "Not responding" after half hour.

Re: [Solved]Crash on every first start
Didn't it say "calculating folder sizes..." in the status bar? Didn't pressing ESC stop it right away? (Rule: if something in Windows is not responding for a longer time the first thing you do is press ESC)
