This is with XY 23.50.0304 on Win 10 x64. Yesterday I saw a similar report on phantom duplicate filenames but now can't find it. Not the one relating to paper folders.
I have both List panes open, showing image thumbs. About 7K in the left pane and none in an empty folder in the right. All are on SSDs. Caching of thumbs is disabled as is auto-rotation of preview and thumbs.
I select 30 thumbs in the left pane and right-click drag & drop "Move" them to the right pane. This works with no anomalies.
Then with none selected on the right pane, I right-click drag & drop "Move" one more image from the left pane to add it to the right pane. Suddenly the 31 thumbs on the right are duplicated, becoming 62. This persists through Ctl-Alt-F5 (refresh thumbs) and switching to View Details (shows 62 files, in pairs of duplicate names). An F5 cures it, showing the proper 31 files as either thumbs or details.
This is repeatable. Oddly, it doesn't happen when I right-click drag & drop "Move" that one extra image - or even all 31 - from the right pane back to the left pane with its 7K images.

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

If this only happens with Thumbnails, could you please show a screenshot of your thumbnails settings? (Configuration | Preview | Thumbnails)

Well, thanks for the report, but it does not happen here.

Thanks for looking. I realize it could be very hard to find just on my evidence. Thought it might click with something else, as it may in the future.

You might try if you can reproduce it with a fresh instance.
