MTP makes XY not responding

when I connect android phone to laptop with a cable, the phone ask:
an MTP connection will be established to access the data on the connected device [deny allow]
if I ignore to answer or choose deny. XY will not respond, for example, when click on recent location button.
XYplorer 23.50. Windows 8.1, 32-bit

Weird! I have Windows 8.1, 64-bit, and I have never seen this message. Is it new?

The phone displays it, not Windows. Eventually a (recent) Android OS change?

yes. it is on the phone. Android version 6.0.1. seems XY is waiting for something to finish.

I'm not even trying to access the portable device, just plugging the cable and not accept the connection. makes XY unstable

Shrug. MTP is crap anyway. I'm tempted to remove the support.

echo exists("<curitem>"); //0 fails when working on items in portable device and will return 0.
