"Enable dark mode" does not change Info Panel font color

Post by Evolve »

When the dark mode is activated with this setting, it does not change the font color in the Info Panel
Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Dark mode | Enable dark mode

Toolbar button "Dark Mode" changes the font color properly

Weird, does not happen here, and I cannot explain it.

What are your values in Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Dark mode?

It's a clean just unzipped beta, I didn't change any values
Level of darkness = 25
Text Contrast = 15
Restarting XY fixes it but if you go and Disable/Enable that setting is breaks it again until the next XY restart

More weird stuff: clicking on titles makes one of them white

Yeah, something is not right in dark mode. Even some of my list panel items are unreadable when in Adaptive colors. Even with adaptive colors off, the Info Panel is similar to the above pic.

Also the Configuration Window doesn't apply switching from dark to light and back to itself immediately.
Only after I close the window and then reopen it, the proper theme kicks in.

Strange indeed, at least enabling and disabling dark mode via Configuration works for me.

Hovering the cursor over the settings list triggers the theme in it.
Not a recent thing, here is v22.40.0229 with the same behavior.

There is something wrong with the button Apply. If I press OK it works fine.

The best I could do:

Code: Select all

! Configuration | Apply button: Did not work well with changing Dark Mode settings.
Cannot be fixed, only worked around: From now on the Apply button will not apply any
      changes in Dark Mode settings.

OH, I got a much better solution: Remove that checkbox Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Dark mode | Enable dark mode! This is just not the place to toggle dark mode.

Hi Don, what about the other issues mentioned with the unreadable files and Info Panel tabs in Dark mode.
This color entry B:prop:#empty:2|pf //s-shape, w-wide, f-frame,b-2pixels>003A75,FFF1EC (for empty folders) was readable before in dark mode, but now looks like the pic I showed above viewtopic.php?p=201612#p201612? I'm not sure what may have changed to affect this and the info panel tab names.
