Multiple XYplorer icons in Logitech Document Flip display

Post by nuit »

I searched all around for someone else already posting about this...

Is it just my machine, or does the XYplorer icon appear multiple times when the Logitech Document Flip window is displayed? Document Flip pops-up when the button is pressed on the mouse, in my case a MX1000 mouse.

I'll seriously make a noteable donation if this issue of multipe XYplorer icons appearing (even though only one process is running (alt-tab shows only one)) as it "breaks" the keyboard-less, quick and handy mouse-activated switching between programs using the Document Flip feature.

Thanks!!

Hi and welcome to the world of XY and the XY forums! :)

This may likely be be one of those items that depends on specialized particular hardware that Don may not have access to...and in cases like this, if you're willing to be a bit patient (given the fact that while Don's close to a super man, but still a one man show), and work together with him via these forums, these type of issues can often get resolved.

There are some that have not been solved right away, but if you've seen some other threads here, he's generally persistent...and us other regulars here on the forum will help when we can also.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

I hope somebody with Logitech Document Flip will ansewr that question.

I can only say that I don't see any reason why that should happen.

I don't use Document Flip either, so I can't confirm this, but I do have a guess at what it might be doing.

XYplorer actually has two windows, according to AutoHotkey and Winspector.

There's the main window with the customizable title and a class of ThunderRT6FormDC.

But there is also a second window with title XYplorer and a class of ThunderRT6Main.

Because the second window has the WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW style it does not show in Alt+Tab or the Taskbar, but it still exists.

Chances are they are just getting a list of windows and ignoring their visibility, style, and process.

I have the SetPoint software v4.00.121 installed and I get only one XY window when I use Document Flip. I'm running Vista Business though...I don't know how much that comes into play.

Very old setpoint v2.40.855 here.
XY appears twice in Document Flip. :(
So TheQwerty could be right.
If nuit is also using a very old version of setpoint, this could have been corrected by logitech? (As JustinF on 4.20 sees no problem.)
(Current Version seems to be 4.40  )
