Create image as original

[Ctrl+Shift+Alt+V]. Creates a new image file filled with the image (if
any) currently on the clipboard.
The standard image format is PNG. But you can change this to JPG,
GIF, BMP or TIF.


isn't it better to create the image as the original format without any converting to another format/quality of the image? Less work, less bloat then :p, and no i wouldn't call it bload, it can be very handy, but it would be much better if it could just save the original picture without changing anything, so just saving it with another name and another location.

I think it would also be nice if instead of choosing a single type, the option was a submenu with the four types available.

Not possible. This image paste uses the raw image bytes located in the clipboard. There is no file format because there is no file.

When Explorer "pastes" a copied image from a webpage it does something completely different, namely copy the file from the temp internet cache. Explorer cannot do what XYplorer does when it pastes an image.

For me, when I've gotten an image on my clipboard, I just use the "Save As" feature in my clipboard cache manager CLCL (from http://www.nakka.com/soft/clcl/index_eng.html)...

The instructions are admittedly somewhat vague, and there's a lot of functions/features that I've never figured out what they do, but I really like the ability to access an item from saved history that is retained until one deletes it.

I've been using it for over a year with no problems...

Addendum: The other software that I use that is related to this situation is "Print Screen" by Gadwin (see http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) which allows me to very easily create a JPG from any area of my screen that I've captured after using the 'Prnt Scrn' key...I use the freeware vers and have found it quite sufficient for my needs.
