hanging while scrolling

hey guys something changed recently in my xyplorer

now when i scroll the hard drive starts grinding like mad and it hangs every so often while the hard drive 'catches up'

this never was the case before. i still have my same columns name, size, ext, date modified, and date created

is there some setting that i accidentally turned on or off that would cause this?

I noticed this behavior some weeks back, but mainly pariticular to some folders that had lots of files/folders, and narrowed it down to too many enabled color filters applying to the location in question. I disabled duplicated filters, restricted others to only specified folders, got rid of unneeded ones, and/or applied the no-more flag for certain situations and it went away.

Based on the very limited info you have provided it sounds like a failing HDD to me, or possibly are you talking about folders full of exe's? if that is the case then maybe you updated your OS/AV and didn't re-do this:

feels like a dying hdd to me too especially considering it seems to be just 1 drive. i just thought there would be a mode where your hd doesnt need to be accessed to scroll through a folders contents. I have auto refresh off.
