Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

Hang loading icons from executables
I recently updated to 20.90.0100 and noticed a new problem. When scrolling down a list of files, XY hangs for almost every exe until the icon is loaded. It's been a while since the last time I updated, I was previously using 20.70.0000. I'm not using the generic icons feature nor do I want to. This happens on local and network files. After they've been loaded once they are presumably cached and load in the background without hanging the process. It seems to be just the first time the icon is extracted from the exe that the process hangs for a few seconds.

XYplorer.exe is excluded in your antivirus solution?

That service is running regardless of whether you have the built in antivirus enabled or not. Just because you see it in my services doesn't mean anything.
However, I did double-check and real-time scanning had re-enabled itself at some point. I have it disabled again now and will monitor to see if the problem remains.

Ah, I see. I was unaware disabling that was temporary. I only recently upgraded (downgraded in many ways) from Win7, which has none of that nonsense!

If it prevents me from operating my computer in the way I want to use it, it's nonsense. In this case, the feature is intended for people who don't know how to use computers to protect themselves from their own ignorance. I haven't run an antivirus program is nearly 20 years and have never been infected, I know what I'm doing so I don't need the OS to treat me like an infant.

Its useless to discuss this with poeple like you, which never make errors.Quaraxkad wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 15:47 If it prevents me from operating my computer in the way I want to use it, it's nonsense. Re: Hang loading icons from executables
Clearly I make errors, as seen in this very thread. I didn't realize that disabling real-time scanning was temporary because I didn't read the full description. My mistake. Could have done without the sarcasm, but that's settled. None of this now has anything to do with the reason for this post, which has already been resolved. Apparently you just wanted to jump in to tell me that my opinion about how my PC should operate was wrong.

@Horst : This exchange shows, once again, the lack of empathy you have for those who do not think like you. Trying to help users is honorable. But to despise them is dishonorableHorst wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 18:22Its useless to discuss this with poeple like you, which never make errors.Quaraxkad wrote: ↑16 Mar 2022 15:47 If it prevents me from operating my computer in the way I want to use it, it's nonsense.
