Rich Copy does not appear (or work) nor does Copy Here With Path

Post by Vocalpoint »

All

Been trying to get XY to assist me in copying a series of audio samples from one folder to another - while preserving (creating) the original folder structure in the new location - like so

I need to copy all 50 files from this original folder:

S:\Content\Audio\Sample Packs\Black Octopus Sound\Wicked Drum Hits 2\Kick

to a new folder like this:

Samples\One Shots\Kicks\Black Octopus Sound - Wicked Drum Hits 2

Not only can I not get the "rich copy" menu item to show (yes - I am right click (hold) dragging and dropping and still no joy) but any of the options in "Copy Here With Path" are not quite right.

There is one that would be perfect except it keeps adding an additional folder at the end of the path folder that requires me trim this last folder in this dialog for each successive file copy:

Might be a nice feature request to be able to tell XY exactly how many folder levels to copy from source directory when using Copy Here With Path? If I could specify to copy path just 2 levels up from the target folder - like so:

Then I would end with this - which would be pretty much perfect:

However - this - would be EPIC... as it would not create yet another sub-folder (Trying to keep this as simple as possible)

Any tips on how to get to this last state (assuming via scripting) would be appreciated.

Cheers

Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Context Menus | Custom drag and drop context menu
is ticked?

Apart from that: Yeah, you need to script that...
One of my scripts helped you out? Please donate via Paypal

Yep - all checked.

Will seek alternate methods...
