Might accomplish the same thing as a ::SettingsMode command but it's still ugly.admin wrote:PS: a nice thing about the p-argument variant is that you can put a variable in the place of the "p":
::setting blah, 1, $perm
Somebody will find a real use for this...
will scripting work on different configs?

Sorry to say: I had a look at the wiki and didn't find that info! Is the only chance to click 'All Pages', Then 'Script...', or am I really blind?admin wrote:Of course, the Pan Galactic Gargle Blasting XYwiki is your best friend:PeterH wrote: Another thing: is there yet a peace of documentation for scripting? Especially a problem ist names of operands for commands, their defaults, etc? I see that's there much change in that area, but just a little table would help a lot.

Thanks to jacky, the fearless wiki master!![]()
But talking about the wiki: big big thanks to jacky for that peace of work!
Yes, it's pretty much the only way for now. I'm aware of that, just like that there still are a bunch of commands missing as well... But don't worry, I'm working on itPeterH wrote:Sorry to say: I had a look at the wiki and didn't find that info! Is the only chance to click 'All Pages', Then 'Script...', or am I really blind?

Peter, just so you know we can make peace that it's a nice piece of work! Jacky's done a great job thus far!PeterH wrote: Sorry to say: I had a look at the wiki and didn't find that info! Is the only chance to click 'All Pages', Then 'Script...', or am I really blind?

I've also been doing some tweaking of those pages to fix a couple of typos, add some examples (taken from beta notes), etc. to try and help out the cause...anyone is free to do same...that's advantage of a wiki!
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

That's unbelievable! Thought I was getting blind, but just am getting old? (And a bit of gaga, or how should I call it...)j_c_hallgren wrote:Peter, just so you know we can make peace that it's a nice piece of work! Jacky's done a great job thus far!![]()
OK, next time, for my peace of mind, I'll talk about piece of work
So I kinda missed those two it seems, but there are other options that may need to be added on the list :
- Show Navigation Panel
- Show Catalog
Especially since a script can focus them (Tree or Catalog), but if they're not visible then focus stays where it is without error or nothing...

Since then you added "ShowNav", but:jacky wrote:So I kinda missed those two it seems, but there are other options that may need to be added on the list :

- There's still no way to show Catalog
- There's no way to show Address bar either
I'm not really sure how this could be used/required, but those are two controls that can be focused, but if not visible it won't work.
I don't know how it could be used, because unlike Tree there's no way to make a "selection" there, but at least this can be done :
::focus Catalog; backupto "D:\Backup";
So maybe there should be a way to select an item or a category on Catalog, to actually make this usable (or a way to specify a Catalog category as source on the commands' paramaters) ?
(As for the Address Bar, I'm not sure it matters...)

I decided to add these only when there is a use for them in scripting.jacky wrote:Since then you added "ShowNav", but:jacky wrote:So I kinda missed those two it seems, but there are other options that may need to be added on the list :
