Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button

Many were looking forward to the second toolbar to be used as a new Menu Bar especially since the existing menu bar doesn't do dark. I can, with one key stroke, quickly change from a toolbar with all the normal menu bar items on it, to a toolbar with full of CTBs and normal XY built-in buttons viewtopic.php?p=195908#p195908 so it's not that big a deal. Obviously, you can have both types of buttons on one toolbar, but space becomes an issue. I cannot speak for others though.

EDIT: I know you're have a mind full of ideas, but another consideration would be an XY built-in toolbar button / CKS that cycles 2 toolbars if 2 toolbars are not going to happen. The script I mentioned uses simple text files to hold the toolbar contents, but I suppose you could have both toolbars contained in the ini file.

You guessed quite well what's on my mind. But I need time to explore other ideas.

Just one thing concerning the menu bar. MS is still working on the Dark Mode. It could happen with any Windows update that the menu bar suddenly turns dark.

Regarding the now useless taskbar in Win 11 it can also happen the menu bar suddenly gets removed.

For now I can live with the current solution, because it gives me a completely dark XY with my most used menu entries available (the other menus I ususally never need since their function is mostly covered by toolbar buttons).

The other menus are never far away: just right-click any of the menu buttons.

Looks like you shrunk your toolbar by factor 0.8 using Ctrl+Shift+Wheel. Are you aware of that?

No.

Toolbar zoom factor: 1.2
Button Text Font size: 8 pt (which will resolve to 8.25 like in the other XY font size settings)

E.g. your dark mode button is 26x27. By factory default it's 30x30.

Interesting. Your icons are clearly shrunk, but I don't see why. :? These things will clear up once I regularly develop on Win10...

I haven't ever measured their actual sizes, just adjusted the zoom to my liking.

I could do another screenshot tomorrow with a fresh instance sich de by side if needed.

For reference, this is 100% (watch the image outside of this post, the forum shrinks large images):

v22.80.0106 - 2022-02-09 20:11
+ Custom Toolbar Buttons: Now you can make your own text buttons. ...
Nice but the following button is displayed as a long button with a folder icon to the left and then a blank gap. The longer the path, the longer the gap. Same for files.

Code: Select all

Snip: CTB 1
  XYplorer 22.80.0106, 09.02.2022 20:39:06
Action
  NewUserButton
Name
  text:C:\program files
Icon

ScriptL

ScriptR

ScriptM

FireClick
  0
Then, when I make a text button and its width gets automatically adjusted, and then I change it back to a normal button, the width does not reset. Not even if I remove the CTB from the TB and add it again. It still has the previous "text-width". This is even true for a narrower than normal text button: If reverted to a normal button with a normal icon, only part of the icon is shown, but when I hover the CTB then the icon is displayed hanging half way in the "air".

EDIT: LittleBiG noticed the latter already as well: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24177
