Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script".
When I click Yes, just wait till things clear out. Why make me click it every 2-2 seconds. It's too frequent and annoying. The hang eventually clears up so just let it take its time. Or make the waiting period longer like 10 seconds and make it a user setting.
Even sometimes when I want to kill XY64ctxmenu.exe, it says access denied. The workaround is just to wait or use another more powerful kill tool.

Begs the question: What do you do right before this message comes?

Re: Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script Keep waiting?"
All I do is right click on a folder to get the context menu. A regular subfolder from a folder off root. Actually it doesn't matter which folder.
So it happens sometimes with Fole Explorer too. I think it's related to File Explorer shell extensions. Maybe their number. I already deleted a bunch of them.
My post is not about why I get the message. The post is about why is this message showing up so quickly again. I have to click Yes a few times before the context menu eventually shows up. If I am too impatient, I would rather kill XY64ctxmenu.exe than keep clicking Yes. But then sometimes I get another annoying thing. The Access Denied issue.

Get rid of your crappy shell extensions and it will all run smoothly.
In meantime untick Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Show the 64-bit context menu.

Who told you I have crappy extensions!? The extensions I have are from reputable apps.
Why don't you be a good citizen and extend the period when this same prompt shows up. Any prompt that repeatedly shows every 2 seconds from ANY app is annoying. BTW, I mentioned this issue several months ago. Nothing has been done about it. Or are you not able to do change it?

you told, when described that this behaviour happens on trying to get context menu, and even happens in File Explorer.
the message shows that some outer task is taking control - so be a good citizen andActually it doesn't matter which folder. So it happens sometimes with Fole Explorer too. I think it's related to File Explorer shell extensions.

Re: Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script Keep waiting?"
At least File Explorer doesn't prompt at all. I can wait or I can switch to do something else for a few seconds and come back to File Explorer. I amnot constantly interrupted.
With XYPlorer I have to babysit the thing and click every 2 seconds. I don't get why you're arguing about this and not seeing the annoying user experience.

don't babysit, do smth else for few seconds and come back later.
I don't get why you're arguing about this and not dealing with your annoying extensions, even after it's already obvious where is the problem.

Re: Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script Keep waiting?"
Did you read the whole thread or just jumped in with these comments!?
I SAID the prompt comes up every 2-3 seconds? I am not going to switch every 2-3 seconds seconds. Plus I already said File Explorer doesn't do this and I switch when using File Explorer.
I SAID I deleted several extensions!
So you agree it's OK for an app to prompt the user every 2 seconds!? I don't think you know enough about a good UX in an app.
Re: Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script Keep waiting?"
I find it odd people are concentrating on my extensions which the developer has no control over, instead of the prompt which the developer can change. The prompt is a consequence of a process that's waiting for something to happen. Whether there are bad extensions or not is beside the point. A bad extension is not the cause for the prompt to show every 2 seconds. It's the developer doing it. The length of wait is controlled by the developer.
Googling the message, the results are referencing AutoHotKey. It seems XY64ctxmenu.exe was developed using AutoHotKey. Maybe it's an AutoHotKey issue.

The message "Could not close the previous instance of this script. Keep waiting?" is indeed from AHK. Cannot say what causes it.

Re: Stop showing this message every 2-3 seconds. "Could not close the previous instance of this script Keep waiting?"
The message appears because it's taking more time to show the context menu. While there might be reasons for it, that's not the problem I am concerned with. It's the damn message popping very frequently. I can live with the menu showing after 30 seconds. I can simply switch to another app and be busy there for more than 30 seconds and come back to XYPlorer. But to click Yes every 2 seconds is freaking annoying.
So basically what you're saying is that you have no control over it and can't change it.
This issue doesn't happen with File Explorer so I am going to simply blame XYPlorer for this annoying behaviour.
