Super-fast Thunbnail Creation

I discovered that v6.80.0063 does not display images no matter what view I use. This is not much of an issue for me.

It would be much of an issue for me, but I can't reproduce it.

With Super-fast thumbnail creation disabled, I get thumbnail images; however, while viewing a directory full of images, if I enable Cache thumbnails, the images disappear. When I toggle Cache thumbnails back to disabled, the images reappear. Toggling Super-fast thumbnail creation has no such effect; I only experience no images after I enable Super-fast thumbnail creation and select another directory of images.

I suspect this is a privilege issue. The symptoms I have described above are with my personal profile. As Administrator, I experience none of those symptoms.

With caching enabled a file is written -- for this you might need rights depending on the location of the thumbs cache folder.

But superfast thumb creation should not have any influence here. This just exploits Windows's own thumbnail creator (GDI+), which is faster but lower-quality than XY's own. Very strange!

Using my profile, with Cache thumbnails enabled, I can see the cache files that get created after viewing a directory of images. Coming back to that directory produces a very fast display indeed, even if I enable Super-fast thumbnail creation. However, once Super-fast thumbnail creation is enabled, it seems to block any new (not yet cached) creations.

Weird. I have not the slightest idea how this could be connectecd to your profile.

Can anybody reproduce this?
