Access is denied

Post by paxanima »

When I close XYplorer, I get this error message:

Access is denied. C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer\Data\XYplorer.ini

I can manually edit XYplorer.ini so I don't think it's a permissions issue.

This problem just started when I downgraded to XYplorer 21.90 because my license was up. My other computer with this version on it doesn't have this problem.

Anybody know what's going on?

Ofc it's a permission issue.

Check the file Startup.ini in C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer

Copy your
C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer\Data
into %AppData% and rename it into XYplorer

So, e.g.: C:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer

and then make sure that the content of the Startup.ini
contains this:

Code: Select all

[Appdata]
Path=%appdata%\XYplorer

Thanks highend. I didn't see your post in time, but I was able to get it working.

I uninstalled the app, then went to Program Files (x86) and I saw the XYplorer folder was still there, so I deleted it. When I reinstalled the app everything is working fine.
