675x675 Thumbnail creation problem
Attempted to change the folder view setting from saved 256x256 to 675x675 Thumbnails. This folder has only about 800 items. All I get is blank sheets per attached.
Works ok for other folders.
Also tried view>caches>Refresh 502 - 506 does nothing -same outcome.
Using 22.40.0200

1) What file type is that?
2) Can you determine to what limit it still works?

Re: 675x675 Thumbnail creation problem
I meant size limit, like 500x500. But with JPG that's not an issue.
As for the cause of the white thumbnails, I assume the *.dbits file is locked (a Windows reboot will fix that) due to a bug that's fixed in the current beta. In the meantime try a different size, 674x674.

A reboot (before I posted) yesterday did not fix that. These are about 95% image files of one kind or another.
Same this morning -" a Windows reboot will fix that" did not fix that either.

No - it was part of a menu done a long time ago. Forgot the details - do not want to upset a delicate setup. No time right now - not that important.
Thanks for your efforts.

After a Windows reboot all locked files are unlocked. So a cache refresh should work: View | Caches | Refresh Thumbnails. But it's still all white?

Re: 675x675 Thumbnail creation problem
Same outcome. When I switch into the folder - it does run through 834 thumbs created - same as your link.
Large tiles (192x192) does work on this folder - as does the 256x256. 675X675 "thumbs created triggered" but the visual outcome remains the same. Same as F5.
sorry

"thumbs created triggered"?
That's not an existing message.

Re: 675x675 Thumbnail creation problem
Thanks,
if I uncheck the first item in the listing - will that not also cause the existing cache to be deleted??
It would take many hours to rebuild. This is not as automatic - as I would like it to be.
Click on a single folder with say 15,000 items ... takes forever to do. This is a very large collection of more than 1TB on two SSDs.
Perhaps a cache repair would be better - if available

Re: 675x675 Thumbnail creation problem
Unchecking "Cache thumbnails on disk" will not delete your existing thumbnail caches. You would have to hit the "Clear" button adjacent to thumbnail "Cache path" to wipe out your cache - see the pop-up note on hovering "Clear...".
By the way, you can use the Thumbnail Maintenance script here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12257 to delete any individual folder caches and also rebuild the caches for folders and sub folders which could be valuable in troubleshooting your issue.
