Mini Tree messed up in 22.40.0005+0006

Post by autocart »

Hi Don,

The Mini Tree is messed up in 22.40.0005+0006.
It feels like the whole C drive is expanded with most subfolders.
It seems like it cannot be edited either, at least not with loadtree nor with the List Management.

Before you ask:
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce it with a fresh instance.
I don't know what causes it. No clue.
Still, it worked normal in 22.40.0004.
If you cannot find out, what you changed that would affect the Mini Tree so badly - obviously only when certain settings are changed compared to fresh settings - then I have to stay with version 0004. I have no time for debugging without having a clue.

I can confirm the problem.
C drive is expanded down to a certain deep.

So you probably mean those expanded nodes somehow self-expanded? Does not happen here. :?

Totally weird:

I upgraded from 22.40.0004 -> 0005. Then I noticed the problem.
I upgraded from 22.40.0005 -> 0006. Problem did not go away.
I downgraded from 22.40.0006 -> 0004. No problem anymore.
I wanted to know it again: I upgraded from 22.40.0004 -> 0006 (skipping 0005). No problem anymore in 0006.
I downgraded from 22.40.0006 -> 0004. Then upgraded to 0005. No problem in sight. 0006 No problem.

It seems like it disappeared on its own. I have no clue.

EDIT: The only difference was, when I upgraded the first time (to 0005 and 0006) I did so with the "SimpleUpdater" script. All other up- and downgrades I performed manually with the portable zip download from the beta forum. I can't imagine that that caused this, but I don't remember any other differences on my whole computer, not even speaking of inside XY.

I can only assume that it is somehow is related to this, although I cannot see it from the code and cannot reproduce it:

Code: Select all

v22.40.0005 - 2021-10-29 12:09
    + Tree: Full collapse by CTRL+Click-on-Minus now also works on "This PC" and
      "Network". FYI, CTRL+Click-on-Plus on these nodes will only normal-expand
      (full expand would take too long).
So, because I have to upload a new version* ASAP, I will undo this change for now.

* because of this:

Code: Select all

v22.40.0004 - 2021-10-28 22:02
    ! Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Remember state of tree:
      Did not remember the expansion state of the "This PC" node. Fixed.
    ! Mini Tree: Could not open the "This PC" node anymore when it was closed
      after startup. Fixed.

It is back after "SimpleUpdating" to 22.40.0100.

What I now notice is that all the folders are first displayed twice in the tree. After some time even three times ...
Folders three times.png
EDIT:
After reverting manually and upgrading foreward again through the "official" internal upgrade notification feature, the multiple nodes seem to be single (normal) again in 40.0100 however, even though I loadtree folders, 0; it seems as if I loadtree folders, 1; or similar. Folder keep piling up even though they should not.

EDIT 2:
The multiple nodes now appeared also in 40.0006.
I am back to 40.0004. Seems to work ok.

Again the problem for me.
Look in the 2 screen shots.
The first is normal the 2nd just after enabling Mini tree.
If you look on the top part you see expanded pathes which have no relation at all to the currently opened dirs
and they also expanded for no reason.
