:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Right click Context Menu

Post by tiger08 »

Right click a file closes the XYplorer.
I have gone through Forum.
I tried and Ticked Config > Menu, Mouse, Usablity > Hide shell extensions from shell context menu.
--It has worked partially. On Right click it does not closes, but but lot of items of menu are missing.
I tried and Ticked Config > Other > Shell Integration > show the 64-bit context menu.
-- Now On Right click some items gone (including rename special) and new items added (including winrar).
-- I am interested in "rename special" and its sub-menu and winrar.
I tried lot of combinations but did not succeed.

My OS is: 20H2(OS Build 19042.1055)
WinRAR is 64-bit

Then don't use "show the 64-bit context menu config" but instead call the "Show 64-bit Context Menu" from the normal context menu (there is an entry in it)

Apart from that, XY doesn't like (at least) one of your context menu handlers and crashes because of it

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Helps to find out which that is and lets you disable them...

Or sometimes not (e.g.: viewtopic.php?p=189840#p189840)
and then you have no other way to uninstall every application that provides a context menu handler (check again shexview to look them up)
until you find the one(s) that are responsible for the crashes...

Report back when you've found the one(s)^^

many Thanks for help.
I used "Show 64-bit Context Menu" from the normal context menu , my work is done.
However nirsoft utils , I downloaded but found beyond my knowledge. It is a black box to me.
I did not try.
Again thanks.
