:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Garbled Unicode using Non-English Input Method(Sorry I made a duplicate thread, will delete later)

Post by nutnutwin »

Hi, I am new here, sorry if there are similar questions asked,

# Background
I am using currently using
- Japanese Input Method(Google Japanese), Non-Standard but quite popular
- and Chinese Input Method(Weasel Input), Non-Standard but quite popular
- I am using Windows 10 Pro, 1909, with newest 20.90 XYplorer

# Problem
- When I type characters like 「➤」, 「➔」, it seems to turn into 「?」
- It happens everywhere in XYplorer, in file list, or in Live Filter
will try else where if needed
- Pasting these characters into XYplorer cause no problem
- Existing characters in filenames are shown properly, too

# Workaround
- tried switching to other XYplorer UI language, no improvement
- tried Microsoft Pinyin(Standard Chinese Input), still no improvement
- tried pasting, works as mentioned above, but a little more work

# Extra
- as the existing characters are shown properly, wonder if it is a bug?
- System-independent characters like 「⇒」「→」 are shown properly

Thank you so much

This problem will be history with the upcoming 64-bit version. :cup:

Hi, wonder if is there any news on 64-Bit Version?
I can totally workaround the 64-Bit Menu with the settings,
but pasting Characters would be a little effort...

BTW have you considered subscriptions? I wouldn't mind paying more for frequent updates.

1) 2020's 64-bit version attempt failed. :(
2) I stay with the current license model. :)
