Portable Devices need reload of XY?!

Post by eil »

Already for some time i have smartphone Redmi Note 6 and XY never showed it in My Computer list. I was thinking that maybe it's smth about the smartpnobe itself, though it was kinda irritating to come back to Explorer(which operated devices fine) for file transfers. i have Win7x64 if it matters.
Today i accidentally noticed that if i restart XY after device was connected, smartphone does appear in XY list! Even more to that: if i disconnect device, it again stays in XY list till restart. Looks like a bug..

Can't confirm with XYplorer 20.70.0116 on Windows 10 20H2 x64: XYplorer (already running) shows my Android device in the tree and removes it when the device is removed.

Win7 might use different messages.

This script (through address bar) will start writing all in-coming change messages to the debug log:

Code: Select all

logchange 5;
To see the debug log:

Code: Select all

dlog;

sorry for delayed answer, and shame on me for not trying last beta - that works fine. still this leaves me with problem on how to determine what in my settings creates this situation, that i don't get update/refresh either on device connect nor or device disconnect. yet it's only about smartphone - usb stcks, usb hdds are detected normally.
2 settings about portable devices are enabled, and i tried all possible variants of refresh/auto-refresh/reset tree-list. is there any more variants to find culprit?

Is it reproducible?

i can't say it's a bug to reproduce, just a conflict in my settings that i was "updating" for years with extracting newer version, that's why i ask if there is a way to track what interferes.
