SC savesettings read only mode override switch

Not sure if this is easily possible, but I am a heavy user of read only mode, and when in that mode any script that uses SC savesettings to write a temp file to subsequently enable reading ini values fails, would it be possible to add an override flag to the command, or alternatively maybe just auto enable it when a filename is given, whichever you think is the better approach.
