Some heavy columns in the search results list maybe?

Re: Recently Opened Files: interface and launch file double-clicking
If you have 0 files listed in:
Tools | List Management | Recently Opened Files...
as would be the case in fresh, then instead it will do a recursive search of the whole folder you have open in the current tab (which for example could be This PC). So do you have files in that list in your main profile, if so how many? I'd suggest manicuring the list manually looking for possible problematic entries (probz network/PD) would resolve your issue, or at least allow narrowing down the cause.

@admin: No "heavy" columns in the search results list.
@jupe: I checked my list and it has 64 entries (as I believe is the max for it) but there are no suspicious entries in it - to my eyes at least.
.
It has a few files with ? because they have been moved to other folders and a wide array of file types but all the files are from my local SSD's data partition mapped as D:/.
Opening the list in List Management (only the first time) took about 15-20s as well, so I assume the wait is somehow related to the contents of my list but it still doesn't explain the even longer wait on closing the tab.

A mystery. Closing a tab does not do anything special.
