Funny: I had an idea, and j_c named it templates :D

So maybe: have a customizable list of templates. One named Default, beeing used for new folders etc.
And have commands like SetCurrentTo..., SetBranchTo... and SetAllTo... - each showing the list of known templates. What do you think?

Yeah, I really like the idea.

Another thing I would like to have is an option, that a new tab opens with the Default Folder Settings or - if there exists one - the Folder Specific Setting. If I have a tab sorted for example by the "Modified" column in the current version of XY and open a new tab using the catalog, the new tab is also sorted by the "Modified" column and I really don't like that. I know this is the standard behavior in all the major file managers but an option to have it the other way would be really nice.

:D Yup! I definitely agree with both of these refinements to the scheme I described...I really think having a choice of which template will greatly reduce the amount of "stuff" that would need to be stored to keep track of folder settings...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
