Hi Don,
Is there an technical reason why branch view never follows junctions?
Would be cool if it did kinda like in folder report..., aye?
junctions and branch view
junctions and branch view

Re: junctions and branch view
No technical reason, just a decision by me.
Same is true for "Follow Folder Links", it will never happen in a BV.
Uhm, frankly I did not make any notes about WHY I decided like this. It's years ago and I think it has never been discussed or questioned here.

Re: junctions and branch view
well... or rather not so well. Could you change your decision on not following links, please?
It can't be that hard, like another program (maybe many?) do this: "TreeSize Free", for instance. It works there, even across volumes.
Actually, I could really make great use of this, like when using the function "set modified date to exif".

Re: junctions and branch view
Not sure. You know since Win7 or so Windows (ab)uses junctions extensively in certain areas of the system drive. Following them could lead to large, slow, and useless branch views.

Re: junctions and branch view
Finally got time to myself today and was interested in a workaround.
It dawned on me the solution could be a paperfolder so went ahead and produced this script.
As Don states following some Junction's can be detrimental to your health.

Re: junctions and branch view
you proly removed it because of recursion :
dirA has childJunction --> B and dirB has childJunction --> A and when you start flatening an infinity loop occurs .
easy allowable with a hidden ini setting think
