Two things: Arrows in searchs date field; Catalog scrolling

Post by Pagat »

Hi there,

i'd like to know your opinion on two things i frequently miss:

1)
When using the "Date" tab for a file search, i'd like to have these small arrow keys next to the field for entering days, weeks, months, ... E.g.:

This would speed up the workflow when only using the mouse. Because right now you have to click into the field and enter the new number of days, weeks, whatever, via keyboard. Otherwise one could just "browse" for the desired number with the mouse by clicking on the arrow buttons.

I usually need this when i ran a search and i only want to increase the period from 1 to 2 months (or something like that) for the next search.

2)
In the catalog: when opening a category which is almost at the bottom of the visible area, the catalog is not automatically scrolled to show all items like the tree does when expanding a folder with many subfolders.
I think it would be nice if the catalog behaves like the tree if it's not too hard to implement.

Yup! I definitely agree on this! :) Being a touchpad'r, I try to avoid the keyboard when possible, and this would help in this...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

1) Is it just this field? There are other text input fields (eg on Size tab)...
It looks a but like an overkill to me. Things like this make an app fat...

2) Catalog: yes, makes sense.

I think that on Size field, user is more likely to key in a totally different value each time, like 50, 250, 1000, etc. whereas on this field, changing it from 1 to 2 or 3 or so is much more common...
