I had a need to try out the fairly new "Search All Tabs" which this thread dealt with...and in process of doing so, noticed this oddity: When you use the standard Browse "..." option, the pop-up gives you the choice of "ok", "cancel" or "new folder"...it's that last option that, in this usage, makes no sense to me...as why would you be searching a folder that doesn't yet exist...but I'm guessing it's just a built-in feature of this canned dialog maybe?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Ah, good find. I can suppress this. Thanks.

UPDATE: just checked -- I don't see any "new folder" option here... :? Judging from the code, it should be suppressed already. What's your OS again?

 Didn't read my sig/tagline, did ya? :P (It's W2K)

And as you can see from this screenshot, I'm on current 6.70.02.

Update:Is this similar to the other issue that seems to be only me on W2K?

I just did...new folder button is still there... I presume you meant 6.70.03 as next vers?

Hmm. Do you have any browse for folder dialog in XY without the new folder button?

Well, let's see...I've also got "new folder" in 'Browse for Exclude' (another place it doesn't make sense)...and in 'Browse for Network Folder'...

Where else should I check? I don't recall other places that may invoke this dialog..

But the UDC usages are for output so those make sense, whereas the three places I found it are for input (searching, etc.) so making a new folder is illogical, ok?

Oh OK, i should have read the post completely, since i have XP i dont have that "new folder" anyway so i did not relaise it until you told that Win2k has it. I too think its illogical to search in folders that you are just going to create.

Seems like you have it everywhere. This is really odd. As I said, all documentation says it is not possible. Hm.

Anybody else out there with Win2K??

WinXP SP2:

FF>Excluded Folders>Manage>Browse. The dialog that pops up has a Make New Folder Button.

But all of the other instances of input Browse buttons have the button suppressed.
