Using XYplorer 20.10 on Windows 10. I have xyplorer.exe and xycopy.exe listed in my Virus & threat protection settings.
I love how much better this looks than the Windows explorer, but it just loads folders so slowly. I timed the following folders, which take the same time whether I view it in "list" view or with thumbnails enabled:
Folder 1: 432 image files, 1.8 GB: 2 seconds
Folder 2: 67 video files, 9GB: 2 seconds
Folder 3: 17 video files, 47GB: 2.5 seconds
Folder 4: 114 video files, 59GB: 8 seconds
Folder 5: 74 video files, 132GB: 10 seconds
It doesn't get any faster or slower if I go back and reload the folders, or if I restart XYplorer, or if I restart windows. I copied the folders to a Samsung 850 Evo SSD, a 7200rpm HDD, and a USB 3.0 External drive, and they all load in the same time which means it's a software issue and not a hardware issue. I've played with the settings and nothing I disable helps the load times. If I go to other folders with barely any files or a few megabytes of files, XYplorer loads them instantly. But as soon as the folders start getting somewhat large, it lags. Any ideas?
Slow load time for large folders, dependent only on number of files and folder size

Show a screenshot of such a folder, especially the column setup...

I removed all columns including my custom columns showing video resolution, and it seems to work fine now. I figured since I wasn't in details view where the columns were showing, that columns wouldn't affect it.

Since you can sort by these columns in all views they have to be filled even if they are not shown.salsaespresso wrote: ↑09 Sep 2019 20:23 I removed all columns including my custom columns showing video resolution, and it seems to work fine now.
