I've stopped using Microsoft Photos, Windows Photo Viewer, or any other photo viewer as I find the Floating Preview perfect for my needs. Or at least, almost perfect. Sometimes I need to open two or more pictures at the same time to display them side by side for comparison.
Is it possible to open two (or more) floating previews at the same time?
(If not, could that topic be moved to the Wishes section please?)

Re: Open several floating preview at the same time
Having 2 or more XY instances open concurrently
seems like a possible workaround.

Not possible. And not really planned.

Got it.
Any chance you'd be open to repack the floating preview features in a photo viewer window, with some changes (modeless dialog, being able to open more than one picture at the same time...)?

Re: Open several floating preview at the same time
This is how I see it: Floating Preview is great for viewing pictures and as I said, I'm using it in favor of any other photo viewer software. But if you want to see several pictures at the same time, or use XYplorer main window while Floating Preview is opened, it's not convenient. So for me, it cannot replace a photo viewer software in 100% of the use cases.
I get that you don't want to modify the Floating Preview toward those changes (I see now that that would move the Floating Preview feature away from its "preview" primary function). But, from my point of view (I may be wrong of course, hence my question to you), it shouldn't be hard for you to "repack" the Floating Preview features into a new XYplorer window (that I would call "photo viewer" by lack of originality) that would allow to open pictures in a new non-modal dialog that wouldn't have the "drawbacks" of the Floating Preview.
Does that make sense?

Re: Open several floating preview at the same time
Well, if that's not hard then making the Floating Preview non-modal would be less hard. So it comes back to the original wish to which I said: not planned.
