Catalog related to a tab

Post by DevinsDad »

XYplorer has so many features. I'm sure I'm not using more than 20% of them, but I love it.

I use the Catalog feature as my main starting point. I have profiled different folders I work in during the day. For example, one Catalog is for SQL 'Queries'. Even if one of the open tabs is on the Queries folder, I will press the Queries Catalog entry. This opens another tab. After a while, I have too many tabs open.

Is there a way to have the Catalog check if there is an open tab and go there?

Conversely, are people using another feature to jump quickly to their most used folders?

Only if each of your folder entries would use a script instead of a simple path

Menu - Favorites - Favorite Folders?

Favorites still open a new tab. I'm trying to reduce the number of tabs I have open.

Selecting a Favorite Folder doesn't need to open a new tab. It doesn't for me. In Configuration | Tabs check that "Reuse existing tabs when changing the location" is checked. This should result in a XYplorer.ini setting of: TabReuseTabs=1

klownboy,

Thank you!

The help file says:

Reuse existing tabs when changing the location

Tick it to reuse existing tabs when changing locations through Favorite Folders, Favorite Files, Special System Folders, Hotlist, Recent Locations, or Catalog.

That's exactly what I wanted.
